Weather Solutions Group (WSG) was formed in 1996 and is located in Olympia, Washington. WSG provides consulting services to public and private entities in order to assist them in the reduction of the impact of weather on their operations. WSG also combines with leading experts in related fields to conduct research in and training for winter maintenance practices in highway agencies. Current projects include assisting in the development of Guidelines for Maintenance Decision Support Systems Implementation for the FHWA, updating the AASHTO Guide for Snow and Ice Control for the National Academies project NCHRP 20-7 (250), and serving on the National Research Council Committee on Mesoscale Observation Networks. WSG is a sole proprietorship
owned and operated by Ed Boselly. Ed has over 40 years experience in meteorology
and is considered among the founders of road weather management, having
been the Principal Investigator on the Transportation Research Board Strategic
Highway Research Program project H-207, Storm Monitoring/Communications.
H-207 defined the term Road Weather Information System (RWIS), which is
commonly used today. ©
